Senior Scientists

Location:Cambridge Biomedical Campus
Type: Full time, permanent / Start: Immediate
Salary: Competitive / Hours: 40 p/w

Your role in our team:

To execute and lead our ambitious research programmes for developing novel human cell types, we are looking for highly motivated and skilled senior scientists to join our growing team. You will become a key player in the delivery of strategic research projects, involved in their design, the generation of experimental data and subsequent planning of further scientific development. You will be supervising junior and assistant scientists work towards project completion. This is an opportunity to join one of the best stem cell reprogramming labs and conduct research with a real-world impact. 

Your key responsibilities include:

• Delivering research programmes contributing to the design, experimental execution and reporting of experimental projects
• Working collaboratively and leading projects including supervision of junior and assistant scientists
• Developing new research ideas with the scientific, business and leadership teams
• Contributing to strategic collaborations with key opinion leaders
• Providing technical and scientific expertise by contributing to proposals, meetings, publications and business development activities
• Disseminating Elpis’ vision and research to external scientific and lay audiences

With essential experience:

• A minimum 3 year of post-doctoral experience in an area relevant to cell biology (or equivalent experience)
• Theoretical and practical knowledge in mammalian tissue culture
• Practical experience of in vitro cell differentiation systems from stem or progenitor cells
• Up-to-date techniques for phenotypic and functional characterisation of mammalian cells

… and possibly

• Theoretical and practical knowledge in haematology and/or immunology
• Experience in human pluripotent stem cell culture and biology
• Experience in mammalian cell genetic engineering (CRISPR, lentiviral vectors)
• Knowledge of up-to-date molecular biology techniques Knowledge of next-generation sequencing data generation and analysis
• Experience in industry

    • Ensuring effective organisation of laboratories (equipment, reagents, workflow)

        Head/Director of Marketing

        Your role in our team:

        Elpis is looking for Head/Director of Marketing to join our commercial team! This position works with product management to lead the marketing efforts for Elpis’s Stem Cell products. This includes building and leading a team of global product marketers and marketing assistants in setting product objectives, mapping out appropriate strategies, and executing effective tactics. This is a full-time office-based role in Cambridge, UK.


        Your key responsibilities include:

        • Build a product marketing team at Elpis.
        • Long-term product marketing strategy, building brand awareness and roadmap for the Products portfolio.
        • Work with product management to define Product strategies.
        • Contributes to the development of both strategic and tactical marketing plans for areas of responsibility by proposing, developing, and executing detailed program plans for marketing campaigns supporting global regions.
        • Responsible for website, press releases, social network updates and news flow
        • Ensure production of marketing materials described in marketing plans including, but not limited to: collateral, flyers, application notes, direct mail, eMarketing / Web.
        • Act as project lead and liaison to internal and outside vendors and contractors, maintaining excellent professional relationships in order to facilitate the conversion of marketing ideas and messages into effective marketing materials and sales tools.
        • Develop and execute global marketing programs, including, but not limited to, product launches and sustaining programs described in marketing plans by development of appropriate sales tools.
        • Ensure all marketing activities are measurable and grounded in attaining corporate revenue targets.
        • Continue to maintain and develop world class web-site increasing awareness and lead generation and ecommerce platform increasing share of ecommerce revenue.
        • Best-in-class delivery of projects, develop metrics, increased lead generation performance quarter- over-quarter to attain Elpis’s revenue goals.
        • Must be able to manage project scope, budget and schedule to achieve timely completion of project deliverables.

        With essential experience:

        • Bachelor or PhD degree in Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field of study. Minimum of (5+) years of increasing experience, specifically leading marketing and strategy.
        • Previous experience of marketing, and or sales, in the Life Sciences industry in the tools and reagents areas.
        • Track record of success in launching new, complex products and achieve excellent business results; developing and implementing marketing and go-to-market/commercialization strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives.
        • Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales, marketing, and business (competitive) strategy.
        • Experience in developing and deploying global integrated marketing programs; biotech and /or life sciences industry and related products.
        • Excellent writing and editing skills, particularly for communicating scientific information, applications, and articles of interest, accurately and appropriately to different target customer segments, including Scientific Buyers, Influencers, and Users.
        • Ability to effectively communicate value proposition and technical information to a range of customer and internal audiences required. Experience developing and presenting marketing materials required.
        • The ability to travel throughout Europe and internationally as required.

          Technical Sales Specialists

          Your role in our team:

          Elpis is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to join our commercial team! This position reports to the VP of Business Development and works with the Head/Director of Marketing to enable commercial/marketing efforts for Elpis’s Stem Cell products. This includes building efficient sales processes, CRM management (30%) and technical sales and customer support for products to exceed revenue targets for the group (70%). This is a full-time office-based role in Cambridge, UK.


          Your key responsibilities include:
          • Initial responsibility will include to create and deploy efficient sales process workflows to using the CRM system and other tools.
          • Working with external CRM vendors Commercial and Marketing teams to implement and analyse effectiveness of these processes.
          • Following extensive product training, the technical support specialist will then become a fully integrated member of the commercial team reporting to VP Business Development Europe.
          • Technical Support via Live Chat, email and telephone and Order entry, quotations and processing in EU/US.
          • Responsible for answering technical support questions directly and updating the customer during the process.
          • Responsible for working with the commercial team to support with product information, product availability and processing orders reactively e.g. via telephone, in a timely manner.
          • Supporting the Distribution partners with product information, technical support, product availability and pricing.
          • Contribute to the development of the ordering, technical support, and complaints processes to ensure Elpis continues to provide an excellent customer experience now and into the future.
          • Work with Marketing on Lead Generation, email campaigns, webinars, surveys and other social media sales initiatives on an ad hoc basis.

           

          With essential experience:

          • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field of Minimum of (1-3+) years of industry technical product experience, specifically stem cell or gene editing products.
          • Previous experience of sales, in the Life Sciences industry in the tools and reagents areas.
          • Ability to quickly understand highly technical concepts and explain them and their benefits intricately to others required.
          • Motivation and drive to learn about the stem cell products currently available and in development and the processes involved.
          • Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of personality types required.
          • Attention to details essential.
          • Outstanding listening, verbal and written communication skills required.
          • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
          • Previous role in either customer services or technical support desirable.
          • Experience taking the lead in a commercial team on efficient use of customer
          relationship management and Lead Generation systems like Odoo, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator required.
          • Ability to effectively communicate value proposition and technical information to a range of customer and internal audiences required. Experience developing and presenting marketing materials required.
          • Flexible and keen to demonstrate initiative.
          • The ability to travel throughout Europe and internationally as required.
